How We Score:

Birds will be scored by the NWTF standards.

Categories:

1st Place: Largest single bearded gobbler per NWTF scoring guidelines

2nd Place: Second largest single bearded gobbler per NWTF scoring guidelines

3rd Place: Third largest single bearded gobbler per NWTF scoring guidelines

NC Land

Participants should abide by the North Carolina Wildlife Federation rules when hunting. Only birds harvested in North Carolina will be eligible for weigh in.

One Score Only

Each bird will be weighed and scored one time only. You will have the opportunity to watch our team score your bird. Birds will not be weighed again before the awards.

Time Limit

If you harvest a bird, you are to report to the park immediately for weigh in. Please refer to "Tournament Day" section below for more important information. Birds should be tagged by the time you arrive.

Waivers and Tags

Once you arrive to the property, you will be asked to fill out your hunting license and tag number. Please have these items with you. Birds without signed waivers from the team members will not be qualified for the event.

• The event will be taking place April 11, 2026, 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. at Deep River Northview Optimist Park at 3409 Hawkins Ave, Sanford, NC 27330.

• WEIGH IN’S START AT 9 A.M. NO BIRDS WILL BE SCORED IF BROUGHT AFTER 5 P.M.!

• PLEASE BRING YOUR HUNTING LICENSE NUMBER AND TAG NUMBER WITH YOU TO WEIGH-IN. THIS WILL BE RECORDED AND ATTACHED TO YOUR BIRD.

• Awards start at 6 P.M.! There will be one meal served at 5 P.M.
